PhD Program Retreat
Lead by Dr. Barbara Parker, PhD Program Director, nine incoming PhD students joined faculty and returning PhD students for a retreat at Graves Mountain Lodge on Thursday and Friday August 23 and 24, 2007. The event receives high participation and positive feedback particularly for the networking and bonding. In addition to orientation events, on Friday students were joined by School of Nursing faculty for breakfast and introductions and guidance. Before lunch, students were lead in concurrent sessions and a plenary on Financial Aid by Assistant Dean Clay Hysell and an update on Technology by Associate Dean Sarah Farrell, chief technology officer for the School.
